New course – 3 sessions
Session 1: “Action and Love” 3-day course: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Complete yoga means integrating the four yogas in our life and in our practice: the yoga of action, the yoga of love, the yoga of concentration, and the yoga of knowledge.
We must act in life, and all of our actions are important. But we should not act in any way we please; it is better to avoid being like those who, as described in the Bhagavad Gita, are “devoted to egotism, to power, and to arrogance” (BG 16-18). If our actions are guided by egotism—that is to say, by desires and especially by greed—we will certainly make mistakes. Mistakes in turn cause many problems and difficulties in our lives.
On the other hand, yoga leads us to the right action. Here the “I” who performs the action is the heart, rather than the egotistical “I”. Let us act from the heart, for when it guides us, we are convinced that what we are doing is just. When actions come from the heart, love is expressed, which in other words is the force of life. In this way, energy that is guided by the right action is not dispersed by our emotions.
This is the theme of the first weekend: “Action and love”.
